Biography:
Jan (Johannes) van Wijk was the son of watch maker Jacobus van Wijk (1) and brother of scientific instrument maker Jacobus van Wijk (2). He stared work in Amsterdam around 1760, and from 1767-1795 lived in the Kalverstraat near the St Lucienssteeg.
