Biography:
Caroline Emilie Bleeker had her own instrument making company in Utrecht and, later on, Zeist. Bleeker made physical instruments such as a galvanometer, precision resistors, slide resistors and compensators. From around 1938 Bleeker also started making optical instruments, such as prisms, spectroscopes and microscopes. After World War II, Bleeker sold mainly high-quality microscopes.
